Fantastic TV
By JimmyP
I bought this TV before Christmas and I am extremely pleased with it thus far. The picture is amazing and I have no issues with the sound (just turning the volume up 33% of max is all you need... no volume issues whatsoever). Perhaps the guy that posted the review with poor sound just got a lemon. This TV is fantastic and equally as impressive as my 47" SONY!

Beautiful Picture - Incredibly bad Audio
By Jonathan Formhals
I purchased this television several weeks ago as special gift. It arrived just fine and was very easy to assemble (attaching stand) and hook up. The picture is gorgeous, as one would expect from a brand new television. I found no evidence of lighter black tones near the corners, as some brands have presented with their LCD's. We've watched a lot football over the past couple of weekends and were never once disappointed at the high quality motion and brilliant color. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. This television has the weakest/poorest audio of any television I have ever seen - or rather heard. We have had the audio turned up to 100% almost all of the time and continue to have a very difficult time hearing HDTV broadcasts. Analog broadcasts are louder. An existing surround sound system which was intended to be used with this TV is useless because of the limited audio outputs on the TV. It boasts a single optical output for sound, which is great if you own a newer sound system or intend to buy a brand new one. There is headphone jack that can be used to connect to an external amplifier, but it shuts off what sound output the TV does have and there is no way to use both the TV sound and an external device. Two different electronics stores that I've checked with have both told the same story: the new tv's are designed with audio systems that force the owner to buy a sound bar, although top end stuff does have better sound. The owner of this TV is just out of luck otherwise.
