5Great peformance for a low price
By That Guy from Seattle
I bought this at a local retailer for about $25 over the Amazon price. Normally I'd fuss with shipping but I was there, killing time, the TV was there... Why not?Let's face it: These days no one is drooling over 720p or a measly 32 inches. Even so for me this TV replaces an ancient 27 inch CRT I had which wasn't broken but I figured I wanted something a little bigger, more efficient, and HD capable in some capacity. The manual specifications list power consumption at about 52-53 watts which isn't bad. Not quite at LED backlit levels but at this price it's very respectable.Unpacking and setup is very simple and JVC even includes a screw driver for attaching the stand. The front mounted speakers aren't anything special: They get the job done but that's about it. Fortunately the TV has audio out options if you want to pair it with bigger speakers. The input/output jacks are good for a relatively low cost unit: 2x HDMI, 1x VGA, a USB port, and a smattering of various other ports including a slough of composite ins/outs. If you're looking to use some crazy home theater Dolby 7.x+ setup then... Well then you're probably looking at multi-grand 50+ inch displays so you aren't even reading this review. The buttons on the unit are recessed onto the back end of the left side as is the USB port. They are easy enough to reach in general but you can't see them or the labels depending on how you have the unit setup so this could be a nice perk or a problem. Otherwise the remote gets the job done for everything else. The image quality is good with no artifacts or ghosting during fast action. Overall brightness isn't bad but other manufacturers have better offerings in this department. Color reproduction seems good and blacks are deep and uniform. This TV also has an ambient light sensor that is used to adjust the back light brightness dynamically depending on the light in the room and the brightness of the image. It's a decent enough effect but there is a noticable half second latency when the TV adjusts the backlighting for a scene change or turning on a light in the room. Fortunately this function can be turned off easily if it bothers you.Overall this is a solid set at a good price. Colors are good, contrast is good, and input options are outstanding for a lower end model.Pros:- Good price- Easy setup, intuitive menu system- Free screw driver in the box- 2x HDMI, 1x VGA, composite, USB connector, lots of audio input/output optionsCons:- Stand has a large footprint but is still somewhat flimsy feeling- 720p might be a problem for some- Brightness is a bit on the low end- Adaptive backlight level feature has a lag time but it can be turned off completely if desired- It makes local TV news anchors look like entirely new people and some may frighten you in HD vs. SD

5Excellent TV for the Price
By Mary C
I did a ton of research and wound up with this TV due to it's decent speaker wattage (10 watts per speaker, 20 total) so I wouldn't have to get a sound bar to hear it, and also because it got good reviews around the 'net. I bought it without seeing it demonstrated in a store. After having it for a few weeks, I'm very pleased with it. Good sound and good picture, after a bit of tinkering with settings. This set has no motion lag issues I've noticed on any films or sports I've viewed on it so far. High definition broadcasts and streaming video look vivid and detailed on this set, and it handles standard definition stations and sources very well. I've also used it as a computer monitor by hooking up to a laptop via HDMI, and not only does video look good, text is very sharp and readable.Another plus for this JVC TV is that it has a QAM tuner (some brands do not, you have to check on their website specs to see whether or not they do). With the QAM tuner, I can get the local TV stations in high definition via cable TV without having to use a cable box. My cable company charges extra for high def. versions of the local stations; I'd have to rent a more expensive box from them and pay more money every month. This TV makes it possible to avoid paying that extra fee and yet still get those high def. stations in HDTV form. I also like that this TV has a wide 180 degree viewing angle. The picture is good even without sitting in a direct line with the front of the set.

5Very nice, inexpensive set with an added surprise
By J. Rose
Bought last season's Samsung LED tv @ Costco. Got it home only to have issues setting it up.Called Samsung only to be told "we don't do audio out on anything smaller than 40 inches".Smug tone. Gooey condescension.Needless to say I won't buy Samsung again.Called Costco and got a lovely fellow named Johnny. He pointed me to this very beautiful set.It is missing a few of the higher end features, but it does a terrific job with my pre-HDMI stereo, Wii connected via component cables, and the PS3 via HDMI. Even has a wider variety of video presets and a customizable one.I don't miss the online information the Samsung had.The audio only feature is a boon. I listen to music on my set each night and one simple button press and presto, a darkened screen. The added surprise was the free Phillips head screwdriver included in the box. A nice touch. It's $50 cheaper at Costco right now (May 2012).

5Great tv!
By C. Blair
Good quality tv. I've owned it for about a month and it has everything I want. I'm able to hook it up to my gaming system and my computer so it works out nice. Picuture quality is excellent as well. If you plan on playing Call of Duty with more than 2 people you might want a larger screen.

5Out of the Dark Ages, finally
By Mrs.58
Dear fellow AmazonianzMy previous television was a 25" Sharp purchased 15 years ago. At the time it was considered top o'the line, even though it weighed a mere 3 tons and was unmoveable. When it fell, landlord came running up stairs to see if I was still alive. Being so large and dense, it survived the fall and continued providing great images but the sound was slowly fading. My cable provider who I wont insult here is so busy acquiring new customers with a new comprehensive total residential package, that smaller customers like myself in a small apt w one set have become like gnats in their ears. My reception was freezing or breaking up, request for service calls meant minimum 7 day wait, and a sudden event of no picture and no internet connection was becoming part of one's day, like the water or electricity going off each day in certain 3rd world countries.Fortunately I moved 2 days ago and so decided to leave the dinosaur behind w a neighbor who was thrilled as his dinosaur was even larger than mine and about to crash.I honestly had no idea (I originate from the dark days of silent cartoons) of what kind of television to buy for my new life. After researching the concept of saving money and ditching cable altogether by getting an antenna for a tv set up for local limited viewing still needed technological skill I'm too old and tired to get involved with.So I did what any idiot would do, I looked for the best reviewed set by Amazon customers, read all the reviews on a set I could afford and bought this one.Dont be put off by a 22" screen, this smaller dynamo has a crispy clear picture; the images almost appear to be in 3D (is that what HD is?) the sound can be heard anywere in the room, I've postponed my hearing test (no joke) and the set can be lifted with 2 fingers, is less than 2" thick and sits on a small table. In short, great set at an unbeatable price, easy set up although my cable man did it all and the remote is similar to my former cable company.Money well spent.

4Philips 22pfl3505d LCD TV
By Surfbro Phil
What can I say, the TV was a good value for the size and it came to the house in good shape. We've had the TV on almost everyday and it's been working perfectly. The set up was effortless, it automatically scanned the channels and we were done. I had to go back and de-select some of the stations but that was easy too.

5A Diamond in the Rough!
By K.C. Cole
PROS: Size (60"), 1.5 inches thick, Picture quality, Panel, Price, Value, Aquos Support, LED, Aquos NetCONS: Screen uniformity (inherent in most edge lit LED models)This Sharp LED television is an awesome set. This set has the Quattron technology which adds the color yellow to the RGB spectrum. I have noticed that the colors are sharper and more vibrant. Purists will tell you there is no advantage to adding an additional color to the RGB spectum. All I know is I can clearly see the advantages in overall skin tone color, background colors, and I even noticed more intense eye colors on actors! Something I never noticed before on my plasma or standard LCD. I previously owned the Samsung 55C7000 set, but was turned off by its screen uniformity issues and "flashlighting". This set does exhibit some screen uniformity issues, but none to the degree of the new Samsung edge lit model I previously owned.I found these calibration settings on the 'net' and they really help dial in the Sharp's colors. I will share them here:Backlight -2Contrast +25Brightness +1Color +1Tint -2Sharpness 0CMS Hue Keep at 0CMS Saturation Keep at 0CMS Value Keep at 0Color Temp LowR Gain (LO)+8G Gain (LO)0B Gain (LO)+25R Gain (HI) +9G Gain (HI)0B Gain (HI) +17Gamma -1These settings are a great, and a little tweaking to your liking will have you viewing your Sharp in a whole new way!BY THE WAY: The picture AMAZON is using to identify this set is incorrect. It looks exactly like the picture of the Sharp LC-60LE820UN on Amazon's page.

5Great TV
By J. Keheley
I have had the Sharp 60 led model for about a month and my opinion is 'Wow". I decided to replace a 50" Panasonic plasma which had a great picture but I wanted something larger and really liked the led models. My initial selection was between Samsung and Sony but when I saw the Sharp picture, I just knew it was the right one. I used to consider Sharp a second tier TV but no longer.....beats the Panasonic plasma. The picture is famtastic and the audio is not bad but I use a separate sound system. I do think that the addition of yellow to the typical RGB pixels does add to the picture. Am very pleased with no complaints so far. Great TV for the price.

5WOW ! You Gotta see this one
By Roy Goderstad
I have now installed three LCD TV's in my house, and the 60" Sharp Aquos blows them away. This 60" is sharper than my 37" which was hard to believe. The colors are vibrant, just like they advertise. I had shopped for months looking for the right tv, and one day I saw the Sharp 60 inch amid a wall of 55 inchers, and it stood out so much better than the other brands, I bought it on the spot. Before that I was waiting to see where the 3D sets were going, but after a couple of 3D demostrations, I said that's not for me. My eyes hurt after looking through those heavy awkward glasses. 3D is cute but not enough for the extra cost. I highly recommend this set. It has lots of pros, and no cons

4Pretty good quality for a very good price.
By AJ McLaughlin
Let me start by saying that my television came promptly and in one piece, two days after ordering. I was very happy about that, and even happier that it wasn't busted up into fragments during shipping- so order with confidence. As for the television itself, the picture is pretty amazing. Some say you can't really tell the difference between 780 and 1080 with televisions of this size, but comparing it to my roommates television of the same size, mine looks clearer and crisper. No dead pixels so far and everything looks sharp in HD. It is also worth noting that the television turns on very quickly, without any beeping noises or space sounds. The sound quality is not bad at all. There is an option to simulate surround sound on the tv's speakers, which in my opinion, made it even better. The volume is good enough for me, and my bedroom is pretty large and cavernous. The TV also has enough HDMI ports for all my gadgets: cable box, XBOX, Wii, my laptop- they all fit. This is the only knock I have, and the reason it didn't receive 5 stars: When I went to attach the television stand to the bottom of the TV, the screws were absolutely obnoxious to get into the holes. They did not fit properly or easily and the screws were easily stripped. The end result is that, although it is firmly attached to the stand, it is wobbly and makes me pretty nervous about someone bumping it. If you plan to wall mount, don't worry about it- but I was unhappy with the way the stand was constructed.Still, a highly recommended purchase. The page doesn't say, but the tv comes with a 1-year limited warranty if you're concerned. I am not. I'm happy with my new TV!

1No customer service
By John P. Thesz
Owned my tv for right at 6 months when it failed. It was under warranty, so I called and the tech showed up the next day. Great! He orders 2 boards for it, they take a week. Ok, fine. He replaces parts, does not fix, and tells me it is the panel itself, which is no longer made and I have to get a replacement. Hmmm. He forwards my case to On Corporation (the company that actually makes RCA tvs) and I wait. Coming up on 2 weeks now, not a word. I call the number given to me by the tech, answering machine. I leave daily messages. Nothing. Wow.

5Sturdy Starter HDTV
By Kevin L. Nenstiel
My last HDTV, a Dynex, had problems with murky color in the earth tones. Because of this, half-lit scenes in my favorite shows tended to become unreadable. It made watching suspense shows taxing, but I thought it was just a characteristic of HD. This unit proves that's not so. It has bright, clear colors, and even darkened rooms and caves have enough definition that I can follow the action. It also has clear enough sound that I can enjoy my favorite cable music channels.Several previous reviewers have given this unit bad rates because of their run-ins with customer service. I can't speak to that, because I've had nothing but good luck with this unit, and have had no need to contact customer service. Therefore I can say, with a certain level of comfort, that I approve of this television. It does everything I need a TV to do, and it does it well, without running up my electric bills. Definitely a good, inexpensive TV for families, businesses, and dorms.

2When it does work, its pretty good
By Cory
I bought this back in March and it was delivered within 3 days, thank you Amazon! It worked great for almost two months, the picture was stunning. Then one day I sat down to watch something and the image flickered a couple of times then went totally black. The power light just blinked steadily, no picture, no sound. Resetting the power only led me to the same results. Worked with Panasonic on-line support, they referred me to a local repair shop. My TV then spent over a month at their facility while it waited for parts, the end result was the LCD panel itself was to blame. Panasonic then shipped out a brand new TV of the same model for me to take home. I have now had the replacement TV for nearly a month and today the screen is starting to flicker... If I have one more issue I will be requesting a full refund from Panasonic.

5Great Quality TV
By Blake
I was excited for this TV to show up at my door 2 days after I ordered it (thank you amazon prime). I am very happy with my new Panasonic Viera LED HDTV. Some people have expressed having some issues with their TV's but its possible they just happened to receive a defective one (It happens and those who normally get a bad TV complain while us happy people forget to write reviews). There are no dead or stuck pixels. The picture seems to be great quality. The speakers are about as good as a TV is going to have. I am not sure why so many people expect the speakers in the LED LCD's to blow your mind. If you want superb sound buy yourself a nice 5.1 or 7.1 surround system. The Netflix works great, not too sluggish, when you have an Ethernet cable hooked up to the TV. It only plays netflix, amazon video but if your really into streaming you should probably look into a Roku or Logitech Google TV (both are around 99$). I played a few PS3 games and I was really impressed with the response time and overall quality picture during game play.Over all the sound quality, picture and appearance are all great and if your looking for a great 42" LED I would suggest this TV. I plan on following up in a few more weeks.Update Oct 25 2011So far the TV has been great with out any issues. After I bought it I did update the TV software. The Netflix is more limited then I would like you cant search ). The TV sound is fine for normal TV but if you like movies surround is a must. I bought a Panasonic blu ray player to use with this TV and I was very impressed with the over all picture quality The New remastered Lion King Looks really good ). Viera link is pretty cool since you can use the tv remote with the blu ray player. I would recommend it to anyone in the 42" led lcd tv market. It works just fine and has no issues.

5Best TV, especially for the price!
By Dbar
I did an extensive search across the whole LED television market for a good 4 months before finally deciding to purchase this TV and I have to say I am 100% happy with this TV. I have had it for a month now and love it. It has excellent clarity but also excellent sound quality, especially when compared to other LED's. Since LED's are so thin, they normally are not strong when it comes to sound performance, however, the E30's quality is great. Combine all of that with the fact that this TV is priced at under $700 at Amazon and you have the best mid-level LED TV. I was comparing it with the Sharp 830 and the Sony ex700 and this one is by far superior. I would have been willing to pay just as much for this TV, as I would have for those two, around $100. But again buying this at $660 allowed me to get a nice TV stand and couches for around the same price. It was by far my best purchase this year.

5Awesome TV but you'll want a sound system
By M. Frank
After researching Bravia TVs, I decided to go ahead with this one since it is one of the newer releases for 2011. I'm glad I waited, as this TV is clearer and more vivid than those of some older models or rival brands. Picture quality is clear with no fog or motion blur. PS3 games and Netflix look absolutely amazing. The only thing this TV needs now is a sound system to broaden the audio experience. If you're having sound issues, try messing around with the 'steady sound' and 'clear voice' options to even things out and make them less muddy. In stores you may see this TV's picture slightly less bright than others, but that is because of the built in light sensor that's located on the front of the frame. The picture automatically adjusts to best fit it's surroundings, and that's what's truly great. No fussing with brightness settings all the time.Overall, worth every penny. Stick with Sony and you won't be disappointed.

5Sony - Simply The Best
By Robert N Victa
The SONY KBL32BX450 with high definition 1080p is an entry level model with outstanding picture quality. This is a highly recommended HDTV for you.I had researched purchasing HDTV for the bedroom and the SONY is better than the rest (LG, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC and budget models). You pay more for the SONY but you getting a SONY. It is worth the difference. Do not compromise. This is a new 2011 model with basic features. There is no Wifi, this is 60Hz and is not an LED TV (however picture quality compares to LED sets). There are only two HDMI ports that may not be enough for some people. The only "complaint" is the sound quality. You will need to adjust the bass/treble and use the equalizer in Custom Mode. It is the same issue that flat screen sets just don't have great speakers. Regardless, this is an excellent television. There are enough settings with options to calibrate and customize the picture to your liking. It is best to disable the ambient light sensor that restricts the brightness and vivid contrast of the picture. Once calibrated, the picture is awesome. The fleshtones are realistic. There is abundant contrast with the blacks are coal black and whites are bright white. The colors are vivid and vibrant. The set will require picture adjustment and calibration out of the box. Motion blur is almost non-existant for a 60Hz set.The features and specs of this set are well documented. You have a USB port to view pictures and videos. If you are very budget conscience then consider the SONY 720p model KDL32BX320. This is also a great set but you don't pay for the Full HD. If you won't do gaming or watch BluRay then this may be for you. If you are looking to install in your living room then look for a SONY with a larger screen.I purchased this from a store with special grand opening sale but wanted to post review for Amazon folks. I would typically buy from Amazon.

4Perhaps the best value for the money out there.
By Deacon Frost
For those seeing the 1 or 2 star reviews, do yourself a favor and ignore them as they address aspects of the TV that are common knowledge to anyone who has done their research and are flaws present when shopping for ANY TV of this type. This is doubly true for the speakers - if you're expecting a massive wall of sound from any TV's internal speakers then it's a wonder you were intelligent enough to type a review on Amazon. Now, on the the important stuff. From a presentation standpoint, the TV is understated and classy. The glossy black bezel is attractive in it's simplicity, with the only deviation of color being a thin strip (about 1cm) of dark gray at the bottom of the TV. The gray strip house the sensor bar and small power leds. This is a 'budget' TV, and with that classification aside, the image quality on this TV is amazing. After some careful calibration, the picture shows deep, dark blacks, vivid color, sharply honed detail, and extremely smooth motion.Despite having a lower refresh rate than higher-end sets, this TV gives fluid, artifact free motion - even in action scenes with lots of quick camera cuts. The image quality is on-par with much more expensive sets, and given the actual price of this set, the image quality alone makes this TV worth a buy. However, there are caveats and they present themselves most notably in the inputs - or should I say, the lack thereof. It's with the inputs where you realize where Sony skimped in order to deliver a set of this size at this price. You get 2 HDMI, 1 Component, 1 Composite, 1 Coaxial, Analog and Digital Audio inputs, a VGA, and a USB input. This input scenario posed problems for me, as I have far more devices than this TV can accommodate on it's own.I have 3 HDMI devices), 1 Component device, 2 Composite devices, and 2 coaxial devices. In order to hook everything up to this TV I had to purchase an HDMI switch, along with a composite splitter and a coaxial hub.Needless to say not everyone will have a plethora of video game consoles hooked up to their TV, but I do, and the lack of inputs made for one heck of wire mess behind my TV.However, my last TV had 3 HDMIs, 3 Components, 3 Composites, 2 S-Video, 2 Coaxial, Digital and Analog audio, and a DVI. So I could just be experiencing 'Input Shock' after having so many options. As an aside, the VGA input works well, and integrating the computer with this TV is quick and painless. The resolution is fine so long as you have a video card capable of supporting such a large picture, but that isn't really an issue unless you're using this TV to play PC games. In conclusion the 46bx420 is an excellent TV on it's own, and it's even better when you consider the image quality you're getting for the price. The lack of inputs is disappointing if unsurprising, but for the average user the available inputs will likely be more than enough. Again, the sound from the internal speakers is lacking but as I said, that's a no-brainer - you really should have a proper surround sound system hooked up to this TV if you're watching movies or HD media on it anyway. This TV is a great buy, and easily outperforms the competing models in it's class, and it does it for less to boot. Pick it up if you're in the market for a TV in this size - you won't be disappointed.

5Very Nice TV
By gregory e juan
I purchased this tv on Turkey Day. It arrived a couple of days later. All I can say is, what a picture! I have zero complaints about this tv, or its sound. It mounted on my wall very easily. I would not hesitate to purchase another tv made by TCL.
