4Pretty Nice
By Micheal Chamberlin
I bought this last Christmas for my daughters room. The picture is really clear and crisp. It looks very much like a Samsung and as it turns out the panel is made by Samsung. That explains the good picutre I guess. DirectTv doesn't have the remote code for this TV yet but one can't be too picky with a good price like this. So.. 10 months of steady use and no problems at all. If I buy another TV I'll definitely take a close look at TCL while shopping for sure.

5Excellent Product.
By Ray Fish.
The arrived on time thank you amazon. First off this new model addresses alot of the problems from the previous model. The tv remote is more pretty than the old model an for those who wants to program their cable remotes the code is I think either 160 or 161. The colors and crisp and rich. This review is based on the 40 inch new model.

5Took longer to put the base on, than to set up tv.
By Melanie Russell
I am watching it as I typeWhen I received it, thought I would get smart and open the box from the bottom, and just slide the box up. The packer was smarter, and put the tv in upside down...lol.I am not mechanical at all, and living alone, I had a problem with the 4 screws to put the base on. Tried to set it face down, like the book suggested, that didn't work, so gently put the tv upside down on the couch and braced it well. Had a problem as the screws went in really tight, so I sprayed Pam on them. (I didn't have WD40). That did the trick. Now, for the setup...kept in the old cords plugged in the Satellite box, and plugged them in the tv. The tv came right on, but no signal. Read the manual, and checked the box that said HDMI, that didn't work, either. I forgot how it came up, but another list came on the screen, no HDMI was checked, so I put in a check again. Wa-LA....my tv program came up.Held my breath, and tried the DirecTV Remote. I was mentally armed this time, as I had read the first review that had the codes in it.I didn't have to do a thing, the saved programs came up, and te DirecTV guide. The picture is nice and sharp. Well worth the money I paid for it.

592-inch is absolutely monstrous.
By royalwalter3
I just bought the 92" from Aarons. It was right around the same price as it is on Amazon, just a few hundred more. They carried the TV into my house and set it up for me. Be warned: The TV is extremely heavy. It took 4 men to carry it off of their truck and into my house. It's easy to set up and the remote is really easy to figure out. Another warning: you need to sit at least ten feet away from the television so that the picture isn't blurry. It also needs to be on a stand because it doesn't have a wall mount. Another warning: it needs to lean against the wall because it's kind of tippy if it's not well supported. However, I left my dog alone with it in the bedroom for a few hours while I ran to the store. He loves to climb on things and jump up on them whenever possible. The TV was still standing just fine. If you go to the Aarons website and type in "TV Console", click on '72" TV Console'. That's the one that we got with our television. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs and I can't find it on Amazon. It hangs over a little bit on each side by about 6 inches. With this stand, it's approximately six feet tall. My wife is 5' 2" and when she stretches her arm up flatfoot, she barely reaches the top of it. Without the stand, it's about four and half feet tall. It's also pretty wide; about 8 feet. The television is a little over two feet wide, so when you're planning out the space of ten feet, make sure you take that into consideration. It is a lot of money for a television and I wouldn't recommend buying it if you need to move anytime soon. Before you choose to buy a television that large, make sure that there's plenty of room to put it.ONE MORE THING I RECENTLY FOUND OUT!!! Make sure you view the Mitsubishi website. On there, they have a list of authorized dealers. Amazon is an authorized dealer, however some of their resellers are not. On the website it states:"DON'T BE FOOLED! While Amazon is an authorized online retailer of Mitsubishi products, many resellers who sell on the Amazon marketplace are not. When purchasing, it is important to note where the product is being "shipped from and sold by," which is stated clearly in the header for each product on Amazon.com."Why does this matter? If you're not using an authorized dealer, there isn't a warranty with it. It's better to pay a few hundred more to have your TV under warranty. To find out if the place you're looking at buying your TV is authorized to sell it to you, type "Mitsubishi TV" into Google. The website will be "mitsubishi-tv dot com" You'll want to make sure the little hyphen is there. Click on the website. On the left hand side, navigate to "Retail Locator". When you click on that, you can either type in your zip code or click the gray box that says "See Online Retailers" on the right hand side. If you scroll down on the page that comes up for online retailers, they also show common unauthorized dealers, including ones from Amazon and eBay.UPDATE!!!Glad we bought the TV at Aarons. About a month ago, our stand broke. We called them and they came and replaced it with a new one for free. Our first one was wood, with beautiful doors, but the weight of the TV caused it to bow and the doors no longer closed.Today, 3/19/2013, the sound from our PS3 stopped working. I checked our Wii and the sound on that worked fine, but that uses AV cords. I checked the sound using a headset connected to the PS3 and that worked fine. I checked my XBox 360, and the sound on that, which is also HDMI, doesn't work either. Called someone and they'll be here on Thursday, 3/21/2013, to take a look.

5GREAT FOR GAMING
By Yongari
After months of contemplating which LED TV made by my fellow Koreans I should purchase, I came across this gem one day. "DLP? LOL!" I thought. Little did I know that DLP technology improved drastically over the past decade.First off, this T.V. is gorgeous. The picture, once calibrated (make sure you go google some settings because out the box the picture is mediocre). At first I was a little disappointed, but after proper configuration, the T.V. looks as good as the Samsung LED we have in our other living room.Gaming wise, I popped in a bunch of xbox 360 games, and oh boy, the picture was great. No blur whatsoever. Don't be fooled by 120hz vs 240hz that LED's advertise. You won't even be able to tell. Not in the slightest. 60 to 120 there is a noticeable difference in gaming, but 120+ you really can't tell. Game consoles that output that many frames per second anyways.Halo 4 looks particularly amazing on this TV. When the master chief's arms and guns are life-size, you feel pretty awesome.Speakers are ok. Loud, but don't seem to balance sound very well. For example, in most games, voices seem not-quite-loud-enough while everything else (bullets, etc) sound very loud. Maybe I can adjust this.If you don't want to spend like $5000 on a 82 inch LED tv, this is the best bang for your buck. From the front, not one of my friends or neighbors were able to notice that this TV was not LED. Even from a diagonal angle, the TV is cleverly designed so that you can't see the back popping out at all. Everyone thinks the TV is a thin LED~

I upgraded from my old Philips 37 inches basic TV. The upgrade forme is huge. The size of 73 inches is just right for my living room. The picture quality is excellent. Even in bright daylight, I did not have any problems even with tons of windows in my living room. 3D is amazing - but the tv does not come with glasses.THe sound system is effective but for a fully immersive experience, I would suggest adding a surround sound system.TV does take a bit of time to start up (7-10 sec), but not a deal breaker. Another irritating thing is it takes time to change channels (using my comcast box), if the channels are in different HD format eg. 1080 vs 780. (in the process the screen remains black).TV is smart enough to remember your devices. Once a device is plugged in (say PS3), it will automatically switch to that input. Has other features of a regular TV (sleep, child lock, video adjustments, audio adjustments etc)The TV is big in size, and as others have mentioned, seems structurally weak. But I think the TV is strong enough for its size and purpose. Mine arrived from Arizona to PA without any problem.Comes with a good remote with big buttons - No problems there. For the price being offered here for this model, I think it is a definite buy. Heck, this is cheaper than most of the regular TVs being offered in the market right now. Do factor in the cost of getting 3D glasses (another 100-150 bucks) if you want 3D.Update: Mitsubishi has decided to stop manufacturing these TVs, so these will be the last iteration of DLP tvs from Mitsubishi. They have still promised to continue customer support for the currently sold TVs.

5A Great Living Room TV
By Houston Guy
I purchased this TV for our living room and am I glad I did. The picture is crisp and clear with vivid colors and detail. You need to attach the stand to the TV and it is a very simple process. It took me 20 minutes to open the box and attach the stand and have the TV working. A very simple process. If you are looking for a great quality TV at a very good price this is the TV for you.

I could not ask for a better TV for the price. I was a bit unsure about purchasing it because I had never heard of the brand. I would defiantly buy another one without hesitating. Great picture and quality.

4Great Picture But needs some feature changes
By DLinzo
I purchased the 37" version of this set and I'm overall satisfied. I'm reviewing here because it appears that the online store where I purchased it will only post absolutely glowing reviews. I purchased based on the fact that 98 reviews were all positive (4&5star). Here is what I tried to post there:Like the previous hundred people, I was impressed with the HD picture quality for such a reasonable price, $700. It "sometimes" isn't as good as my 23" Toshiba LCD that gets the "over the airwave" HD picture through a DigitalStream HD3150plus tuner with a HDMI cable. I believe this may be due to the size of the Hannspree screen, 37". If you use the zoom feature and set it to ½ size, it is comparable to the Toshiba. Anyone who has expanded a video file on a computer screen knows that it degrades if you get it too big. Some TV shows are actually broadcast in a much smaller screen size, which you can see by pressing the "Wide" button and going to "no scale". One thing I found annoying with the zoom feature, that in my opinion, makes it useless, is when the white box with a smaller black box inside, pops into the middle of the screen with the size (2x, 4x, 1/32, 1/2 etc.) also in the middle, to the right of the box, that's showing you how much you have zoomed. The box and writing can't be turned off, so you can't actually watch anything in anything but the standard mode. I'm hoping that there is some kind of a software upgrade to fix this in the future or Hannspree changes this in the next production. The next thing I found disappointing is that the POP/PIP (picture-in-picture) can't capture a picture from both the "Airwave" and "Cable" at the same time, for this feature. You have to draw the second picture from another source such as a VCR, DVD, PC, or something through one of the HDMI connections. Then regarding a second and third source, the AV and S-vid connection use the same "audio in" connection, so you can only use one or the other OR constantly be plugging and unplugging audio depending on the source. If one of your sources also has component or HDMI connection (as mine did) you can buy a new set of cables to overcome this problem. The last thing, that I find just plain stupid, is that the "audio out" is not controlled by the volume or mute switch. Even my 17 year old 32" TV was designed with that much foresight. So if you have it hooked to an amp and speakers for better sound quality, you have to walk across the room to turn it down on commercials (that as you know, usually jack the volume up). I'm not sure if the SPDIF Optical output is controlled by the volume switch or not.My conclusion is that it is a good TV, but with a little thought by the designer, it could have been a great TV with little or no additional cost. Time to go back to the drawing board.P.S. A signal strength meter would be a very nice feature to have. If I hadn't had one on my DigitalStream tuner, I could have never done the much needed, critical fine tuning on my antenna (aiming and tilting)that allowed me to pick up 3 additional over the airwave channels.

3Mediocre picture quality, faulty power supply
By Hannspree owner
I have owned this TV for over 5 1/2 years. Here are my list of pros and cons:Pros: - was cheap compared to other sets at the time of purchase - it has both analog and digital tunners - good sound compared to other TV in its class - has a split picture mode (not picture in picture, more like picture next to picture)Cons: - hard to find cable/satellite remotes with codes for this - faulty power supply (Google FSP212-3F01 for more info) - Mediocre picture quality - only 1 HDMI input

1Don't buy if you have Comcast cable; TV is only compatible with DirecTV remotes
By Amy A. Perdue White
There is no manufacturer's code to program Comcast remotes to work with this TV. It's only compatible with DirecTV which seems ridiculous in this technological day and age. Other brands have various manufacturers codes to program remotes, but this brand does not. Time to fix this issue Hannspree!!

5Much better than I expected
By Alana Anastasia Diaz-Sutton
This is the first 1080p 120Hz LCD Tv that I bought. I had previously purchased an LG tv however it was 720p. This Tv is GREAT! I love the Net Tv as it has podcasts that you can watch as well as Netflix, Pandora, Facebook etc. Setup was a breeze. Downloading and updating the software was seamless. Yes, I am technical however non-technical people should be fine too :-)Watching tv this way I am aware of the camera angles and I feel like I am right there experiencing everything with the actors. I purchased this tv for our Master bedroom and it is the perfect size. I did purchase a digital antenna so we could get the local channels for free and I also purchased a Roku. The only thing this tv is missing is a Web browser. That being said the picture quality is great and the Surround Sound is pretty good. We have speakers in the bedroom from our previous living room set and hubby is taking his sweet time in hooking it up since the sound from just the tv alone is great.I definitely recommend this tv and I feel pretty pleased about my selection. Trust that I researched the heck out of multiple tvs before choosing this one.

5A great set, Awesome display
By Marlon P
I was at 1st reluctant to purchase this set, since I have always satisfied with Samsung products. But because of thesale at the time and its a 120hz system I jumped at it.Upon arrival it was very easy to handle, one person can handle this set very easily. Easy setup, the remote is a little confusing, but after 10 minutes I was breezing right along. The picture is awesome, I have Comcast hd and this set just pops with lively color, its truly remarkable. The sound quality is great, but i have a Onkyo surround sound system makes the sound stand out. The 120hz video makes gaming, I have no words to describe.I have not tried the other features, but am eager to try the internet feature. It has a built in WiFi or you can hardwire straight to it with an Ethernet connection.Phillips has won me, even though I still like Samsung products, I will still look at Phillips before I make final decision.

4good pic but lacks optical audio
By Caperie
So far we like the picture and sound quality. However, did not realize that most sound bars and home theater sound systems are going to digital optical audio. Found a panasonic sound bar that uses hdmi, but better quality ones use the optical and do not have hdmi. Also, be sure you have a high bite rate to use the tv connect. We only have 6 mbps and that is not enough to use the software. No app for Amazon video streaming or rentals. Pandora is great as well as netflix. Seems like you need to use a USB to download software updates as well.

5Much better than average!
By M. Zingsheim
I bought the the JVC 32" 720p LCD HDTV LT32E479 on sale for under $700. I liked it better than the Samsung or Toshiba which were highly rated. The picture is sharper and the contrast deeper than other 32" LCD TVs selling at a higher price. I have it connected to DirecTV HD. You couldn't ask for a better picture or better sound for that size TV.

The picture quality on this TV is amazing, but everything else about it pretty much stinks. It does what it was designed to do, but the design was BAD from the start. With the tuner:1. No signal strength meter2. Dolby digital via optical out stops working about every 20 minutes, and you have to change the channel back and forth to get it to work again.3. Analog and digital channels are mixed together in numerical order. This is soon to be a moot point, but I have never seen another TV that does this.4. If you use the buttons on the TV itself, you will ALWAYS end up changing the tuner setting to cable. Change it back, but only through the menu.5. If you enter a channel number from the remote, it always assumes you mean an analog channel number unless you give it a sub channel. Didn't they hear that analog broadcast is going away??Other issues:1. Analog audio for HDMI 1 = doesn't work, and no option to select digital or analog audio.2. Slow startup. It's not lcd projector kind of slow, but it is annoying.3. Menu text is too small, with no option to change.4. No analog or digital optical audio out when receiving signals from an HDMI source (INTERNAL SPEAKERS ONLY). So you have to use some other connection directly from the source device if you want to have better sound. sort of defeats the idea of ONE cable with HDMI..LCD panel maker: A+JVC controller design: F

555LM4600 Amazing Value! Likely not true 120hz though.
By Snaby
I love many things about this TV but one of my favorite features is the built-in picture calibration tool. With proper calibration this TV looks just as good if not better than my Samsung LCD. With 3D Bluray content this TV is fantastic. The 2d to 3d conversion is neat but nowhere close to the quality of true 3d content. Also, it's nice that "movie theater" glasses work with this set. I notice very little motion blur but LGs claim of 120 hz is likely bogus. Apparently this model and several others LG put out are actually 60hz panels that they cycle the LEDs on and off to claim "Trumotion 120 hz". I spoke with LG directly and they claim 120hz is "always on" for this TV, but there are no menu settings or controls for the Trumotion. You will NOT get the soap opera effect from this TV, but to me that is a good thing, though I realize some people will be disappointed with this. The HDGURU website has a great article on LGs claim of 120 hz on its review of a similar TV the 55lm6700 called "When 120 Hz isn't 120Hz". Anyway, this was not a deal breaker for me as this TV has such a great picture and the 3d is amazing. (By the way passive 3d sets like this model don't have to have 120 hz as they are using polarization to display two separate images as opposed to cycling images for active shutter glasses). The sound on my set is fine but I ended up getting the TVee 25 soundbar from Boston Acoustics because I wanted the extra punch that a subwoofer adds. On another note I bought this TV from Walmart for 849 before Christmas and it subsequently went down to 799 an unbelievable value for this set, strangely cheaper than the non-3D "LS" version of this set. It is a myth that these retailers get inferior sets. As long as the model numbers are the same go for the lowest price you can find with a retailer you feel comfortable dealing with. I usually buy most of my gear through Amazon but unfortunately they didn't have this set available when I was in the market for a new TV. If you already have all the "smart" gear and just want a fantastic LED TV with the ability to watch 3D content you can't go wrong with this set.

5Great TV at an excellent price!
By Shane D.
I have to say, this is a fantastic looking television! I haven't gotten a new TV in 6 years and it's pretty amazing how they can make such a huge TV so thin now. At 1.4" thick with a thin, shiny black bezel, it looks really great either turned on or off. This was very easy to assemble out of the box. The supplied stand was simple to connect to the TV...5 minutes and I had it connected and propped up on my entertainment center. I didn't realize you could swivel the stand...nice touch.Initial set up was quick and simple as well. The menus are easy to follow and straight forward. The supplied remote control is well laid out and easy to use. I turned on the TV, went through the initial set up process, and I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes. The number of video outputs worked out perfectly for me (3 HDMI for XBox, PS3, and Apple TV, 1 component for my cable box, and 1 USB for whatever). And I can finally replace the old red and white RCA cable going from the TV to the surround sound receiver with a digital optical audio cable. As far as the picture goes...I'm not a videophile by any means, but I think the picture on this TV looks great. It definitely took some tweaking right out of the box, but the built in calibration tool is useful, and I was also able to find some people online that shared their calibration settings. After a while I was able to find the sweet spot for my viewing preferences. The 3d function is useable, though I didn't buy the TV for this purpose. I played around with the 2d to 3d conversion and it is pretty neat and surprisingly effective. I haven't gotten the chance to do any 3d gaming or watch any 3d movies, but I expect those experiences will be even better. The menus are well laid out, simple to follow, and have a generally "premium" look to them. The supplied remote control looks nice, feels solid, has large (but not too large) buttons, and is very easy to use.All in all I am very happy with this TV. I specifically wanted to get a "non smart TV" for the fact that I already have all of the apps and functionality I need with my XBox, PS3, and Apple TV. I was really happy to find such a high quality TV without all the frills. I was more than happy to pay a couple hundred dollars less for a quality TV set without the "smart" capability. The fact that it has 3d capability was a really nice extra that seemed almost "free" considering the price tag.I decided to choose this TV over a smiliarly priced 55" Samsung TV because this set was about $90 cheaper, it has 3 HDMI outputs as opposed to 2 on the Samsung, and it has the 3d function (icing on the cake). So far I am very happy with my decision.I was able to purchse this set for $799 + $29 shipping and at that price I feel it was an absolute bargain.EDIT: There have been a lot of negative things said about the sound quality on this TV and the internal speakers making rattling noises and things like that. I have not experienced any issues with the sound on my TV whatsoever. Granted, they are internal TV speakers so you can't really expect mind blowing sound out of them, but I have found the sound to be quite adequate at normal viewing levels. I have actually noticed a few different sound effects and things like that on programs that I would watch on my previous TV that I had never heard before. I haven't cranked up the volume too much yet, but I haven't experienced any noise/rattling, nothing like that at all.

5Tried 4 Different TVs & This one is the Keeper!
By Daniel B.
Went through 4 TVs before I landed on this 55" LG LED 55LM4600. Initially bought a very inexpensive Element brand 46" LCD 60Hz. Picture was just OK and the menus and input/output ports were sorely lacking. Also, I could never make it work with my Harmony Remote properly. Not a keeper. Next was an LG 50" 1080p Plasma. Great picture but the screen was simply way too glossy. I could not stand seeing the lights reflecting in the screen during the entire movie! Back it went. Next TV was an Insignia from Best Buy. 55" LED 120Hz. Tons of inputs and outputs. Very nice picture but had major "soap opera effect". Every scene looked "fake". Not sure how else to describe it but even my wife noticed it. I tried really hard to ignore it but it really did drive me crazy. Changing the motion settings in the menu did not seem to make any difference. Best Buy took it back. (super-great company by the way - very nice and easy to work with!) Next bought a Panasonic 55" Plasma (ST30) but the Sears store where I went to buy it had been playing the CARS movie non-stop on all their display TVs for 3 months. I was buying the display model (on super sale) and the DVD Title Menu was completely burned into the screen so I passed on that one too. However, sitting right next to it was the LG 55LM4600 55" LED (also on sale). The picture looked fantastic and I brought that one home instead. I could not be happier. Excellent picture, brighter than any plasma I looked at. No "soap opera effect", no ghosting. Very clear and crisp. I'm not a huge sports fan so I cannot testify to refresh but I have not noticed any blurring on any shows. Even the "ticker" at the bottom of the screen on news stations look fine to me. Screen is not as matte as the Insignia but still very little in the way of reflection. Works perfect with my Harmony 600 remote and Sony 590 Blu-Ray player. Menus are easy to use (remote is very nice). Comes with 4 pair of 3D glasses too. Finally found the keeper!
