I bought this tv off Walmart's website on Black Friday. Unboxing I found the tv poorly packaged in the box, as there was only foam surrounding the four corners of the tv. I read reviews saying that they received their tv with a cracked screen, didnt surprise me. I then pulled out the base and a thick plastic zip bag with the manual, setup instructions, remote w/ batteries, a nice screw driver, screws, and a few pieces for the base. Skipping forward, installing the base was pretty easy, took maybe 3 min. After turning on the tv, I hooked up my XBOX 360 and I played Black Ops 2. The resolution is great, frame rate is a tad underpowerd. For a 42" LCD, 120Hz is more ideal. But im ok with the performance. This tv IS loaded with nice features, there are alot of EQ settings, SRS settings, all with 5.1 output....nice. There are alot of picture settings as well, basic brightness, contrast, tint, etc, and it offers "dynamic contrast" settings, film mode which supposibly smooths out the frate rate for watching movies, i tried it, didnt see much of a difference. Tv offers plenty of HDMI ports, and RBG, VGA, RCA OUT, RCA IN, digital out, headphone in, and USB.Pros:Good, clear, quality picture...can easily go up against Vizio, Sony, LG.Plenty of nice optionsAttractive frame and baseGREAT priceSceptre is a leader and innovator in HD LCD pc monitors, its a trust-worthy brand.Cons:60Hz, it works hard, but you can tell theres just a tad bit of "bleh" in the frame rate clarity.It has auto volume set on from the factory, its annoying and i suggest you turn it off in the sound settings, its named AVL.Overall, I gave this TV 4 stars cause though I like it, i didnt go WOW after plugging it in. The picture wont blow you away, its not a LED at 120hz, but it IS very nice. Im happy with the purchase, coming from a 32" TV, its a nice upgrade, fits better in my apartment living room. You get your moneys worth out of this tv, now its all a matter of how long it lasts....ill be back if it dies soon for some reason.
