592-inch is absolutely monstrous.
By royalwalter3
I just bought the 92" from Aarons. It was right around the same price as it is on Amazon, just a few hundred more. They carried the TV into my house and set it up for me. Be warned: The TV is extremely heavy. It took 4 men to carry it off of their truck and into my house. It's easy to set up and the remote is really easy to figure out. Another warning: you need to sit at least ten feet away from the television so that the picture isn't blurry. It also needs to be on a stand because it doesn't have a wall mount. Another warning: it needs to lean against the wall because it's kind of tippy if it's not well supported. However, I left my dog alone with it in the bedroom for a few hours while I ran to the store. He loves to climb on things and jump up on them whenever possible. The TV was still standing just fine. If you go to the Aarons website and type in "TV Console", click on '72" TV Console'. That's the one that we got with our television. I'm not sure exactly how much it costs and I can't find it on Amazon. It hangs over a little bit on each side by about 6 inches. With this stand, it's approximately six feet tall. My wife is 5' 2" and when she stretches her arm up flatfoot, she barely reaches the top of it. Without the stand, it's about four and half feet tall. It's also pretty wide; about 8 feet. The television is a little over two feet wide, so when you're planning out the space of ten feet, make sure you take that into consideration. It is a lot of money for a television and I wouldn't recommend buying it if you need to move anytime soon. Before you choose to buy a television that large, make sure that there's plenty of room to put it.ONE MORE THING I RECENTLY FOUND OUT!!! Make sure you view the Mitsubishi website. On there, they have a list of authorized dealers. Amazon is an authorized dealer, however some of their resellers are not. On the website it states:"DON'T BE FOOLED! While Amazon is an authorized online retailer of Mitsubishi products, many resellers who sell on the Amazon marketplace are not. When purchasing, it is important to note where the product is being "shipped from and sold by," which is stated clearly in the header for each product on Amazon.com."Why does this matter? If you're not using an authorized dealer, there isn't a warranty with it. It's better to pay a few hundred more to have your TV under warranty. To find out if the place you're looking at buying your TV is authorized to sell it to you, type "Mitsubishi TV" into Google. The website will be "mitsubishi-tv dot com" You'll want to make sure the little hyphen is there. Click on the website. On the left hand side, navigate to "Retail Locator". When you click on that, you can either type in your zip code or click the gray box that says "See Online Retailers" on the right hand side. If you scroll down on the page that comes up for online retailers, they also show common unauthorized dealers, including ones from Amazon and eBay.UPDATE!!!Glad we bought the TV at Aarons. About a month ago, our stand broke. We called them and they came and replaced it with a new one for free. Our first one was wood, with beautiful doors, but the weight of the TV caused it to bow and the doors no longer closed.Today, 3/19/2013, the sound from our PS3 stopped working. I checked our Wii and the sound on that worked fine, but that uses AV cords. I checked the sound using a headset connected to the PS3 and that worked fine. I checked my XBox 360, and the sound on that, which is also HDMI, doesn't work either. Called someone and they'll be here on Thursday, 3/21/2013, to take a look.

5GREAT FOR GAMING
By Yongari
After months of contemplating which LED TV made by my fellow Koreans I should purchase, I came across this gem one day. "DLP? LOL!" I thought. Little did I know that DLP technology improved drastically over the past decade.First off, this T.V. is gorgeous. The picture, once calibrated (make sure you go google some settings because out the box the picture is mediocre). At first I was a little disappointed, but after proper configuration, the T.V. looks as good as the Samsung LED we have in our other living room.Gaming wise, I popped in a bunch of xbox 360 games, and oh boy, the picture was great. No blur whatsoever. Don't be fooled by 120hz vs 240hz that LED's advertise. You won't even be able to tell. Not in the slightest. 60 to 120 there is a noticeable difference in gaming, but 120+ you really can't tell. Game consoles that output that many frames per second anyways.Halo 4 looks particularly amazing on this TV. When the master chief's arms and guns are life-size, you feel pretty awesome.Speakers are ok. Loud, but don't seem to balance sound very well. For example, in most games, voices seem not-quite-loud-enough while everything else (bullets, etc) sound very loud. Maybe I can adjust this.If you don't want to spend like $5000 on a 82 inch LED tv, this is the best bang for your buck. From the front, not one of my friends or neighbors were able to notice that this TV was not LED. Even from a diagonal angle, the TV is cleverly designed so that you can't see the back popping out at all. Everyone thinks the TV is a thin LED~

I upgraded from my old Philips 37 inches basic TV. The upgrade forme is huge. The size of 73 inches is just right for my living room. The picture quality is excellent. Even in bright daylight, I did not have any problems even with tons of windows in my living room. 3D is amazing - but the tv does not come with glasses.THe sound system is effective but for a fully immersive experience, I would suggest adding a surround sound system.TV does take a bit of time to start up (7-10 sec), but not a deal breaker. Another irritating thing is it takes time to change channels (using my comcast box), if the channels are in different HD format eg. 1080 vs 780. (in the process the screen remains black).TV is smart enough to remember your devices. Once a device is plugged in (say PS3), it will automatically switch to that input. Has other features of a regular TV (sleep, child lock, video adjustments, audio adjustments etc)The TV is big in size, and as others have mentioned, seems structurally weak. But I think the TV is strong enough for its size and purpose. Mine arrived from Arizona to PA without any problem.Comes with a good remote with big buttons - No problems there. For the price being offered here for this model, I think it is a definite buy. Heck, this is cheaper than most of the regular TVs being offered in the market right now. Do factor in the cost of getting 3D glasses (another 100-150 bucks) if you want 3D.Update: Mitsubishi has decided to stop manufacturing these TVs, so these will be the last iteration of DLP tvs from Mitsubishi. They have still promised to continue customer support for the currently sold TVs.

4Great Value... but some minor disappointments
By Richard C. Randall
Ultimately, the LG 32LS3450 32" 720p is a great TV for the price.Positives:Great picture (be advised that Dish TV, Direct TV, etc. all compress the HD signals - so to get a proper view of the picture, either get the HD from a Blu-Ray disk or an antenna - over-air HD is not compressed, so it looks much better). Most TVs with this kind of picture are much more expensive... hence the great value. I also like the remote and the navigation. Hooking up a Blu-Ray/DVD player and Roku was pretty standard (the TV has 2 HDMI inputs as well as plugs for RGB or the single yellow video plug accompanied by 2 audio plugs).Disappointments (note that I tend to focus on the negatives when reviewing a product - because things that work are supposed to):- It was impossible to mount the stand properly to the TV. Fortunately, since the TV slides into the stand, this isn't critical (a design/manufacturing flaw).- The TV lacks an Internet input (or WiFi) for streaming. So you'll need an external device for that.- Initially my Roku HD didn't work when plugged into an HDMI port, but would work when plugged into the yellow video plug. This problem was easily corrected by resetting my Roku HD (LG Tech Support helped me solve that problem).- I noticed that when I switch to the HDMI input for my Roku, after a few seconds the screen would suddenly and noticeably darken. This was eliminated by turning off the "Energy Saving" function (from the Settings / Picture screen).- Another minor disappointment was that this TV only has one cable/Antenna input. Some people (like me) watch cable for cable shows but switch to antenna for network channels in order to experience them in true HD.- I downloaded and tried to update my firmware without success. LG Technical Support recommended that I take it to a local Service Center to figure out what that problem was. I doubt that the firmware update would be necessary for most people.- My MAJOR disappointment was that some distributor web sites (e.g., Fryes) CLAIM that this TV will play video files (avi, mp4, mkv) via the USB port (e.g., from an external hard drive). This claim also "appears" to be supported in the TV being DivX Certified. However, this TV does NOT have that functionality (the manual is quite ambiguous on this point, but LG Technical Support was clear). The USB port will only recognize photos and music files. However, most TVs lack this functionality. The way around it is to get a Blu-Ray player with a USB port supporting that capability (there are MANY inexpensive Blu-Ray players (e.g., Samsung) on the market supporting this functionality). If you MUST have that functionality in the TV, check out the LG 32LM6200, the Samsung UN32ES6500FXZA or Samsung UN32EH5300FXZA. These TVs are more high-end and accordingly more expensive.Ultimately, these disappointments wouldn't be noticed by the vast majority of people. Hence, my 4 star rating.

3Good TV, just a little dimmer than it looked at the store
By J. Nordby
It would have merited a four or five since everything works well and picture quality is very good except for the following. We went to Wal Mart and looked at all the smaller HDTV's doing side by side comparisons. The LG's all seemed to have a very bright picture compared to most others for the same or higher price. It set up and operated easily as advertised but the picture wasn't as bright as in the store. I have a 24" Westinghouse HDTV/Monitor in my office, tuned in the same program and looked back and forth to clearly see the LG was not as bright. So I went to the control panel and did the automatic or wizard adjustment for brightness comparing samples, picking the sharpest or brightest one and so forth but it was still the same. So I manually adjusted brightness and contrast up near 100% and it was still the same.I doubt if the difference is in the smaller screen size of the Westinghouse, although some friends suggested that. My wife is happy with it, no one notices except me so its not a problem just a minor disappointment. Therefore this TV is okay and if it was as bright as the sample in Wal Mart it would be a 4 or 5.

Samsung LN-S4695D 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Product Description

The quintessential 46" flat-panel LCD screen is capable of producing 1080p (progressive) image resolution that takes HDTV to an even higher range of detail. With up to a 6000:1 contrast ratio blacks are blacker and white are whiter for images that exceed anything previously displayed by other LCD TV screens. There are over two million pixels resulting from the 1920x1080p resolution of this screen that is fully capable of displaying HD images in the true 1080p ideal. That's about twice as many pixels as a typical HDTV LCD screen (at 1366x768). Most other screens can only display 720p or 1080i in HDTV modes. When considering new external high-definition video sources, this LCD takes you to a higher realm than typical HDTV. It is capable of displaying over 12.8 billion color combinations. The new, optimized game mode and fast 8ms response time will thrill avid gamers with its movie-like visuals. The audio system is equally impressive, with hidden bottom speakers that offer SRS TruSurround XT sound. A 178-degree viewing angle and convenient swivel stand let you enjoy shows from anywhere in the master bedroom, living room or den. We should make a brief pause to discuss the achievement of 6,000:1 contrast-ratio from an LCD screen. Contrast ratio deals with the integrity and optimal range of black and white shading on your screen. While most large LCD screens previously achieved about 1200:1 or 2,000:1 readings, plasma screens delivered up to 10,000:1. Offering 6,000:1 means delivery of the best picture available on a home LCD flat-panel. It also makes a great PC monitor. This is high-definition as it was meant to be! Fast 8ms response time + New optimized game mode Includes Swivel stand but may also be optionally wall-mounted with a VESA compliant bracket ?Hidden? bottom speakers SRS TruSurround XT 10 Watts by 2 channels power output Connectivity - 2 HDMI / 2 Component video inputs (Y,Pb,Pr) / S-video an

5Awesome TV!
By Rahul Deshpande
Bought the TV a week back after months of agonizing over Sony XBR and Samsung, and I am glad of the choice I made. It's probably the best LCD tv I came across with eye-opening contrast. The picture is exceptionally clear, even for the SD programs. Obviously, I can't test 1080p, but its a probably a good thing to have for 'future-proofing'. ( I did see a Samsung demo of 1080p on this model...its quite impressive). The native resolution of 1920x1080 also works great for connecting to PC. Movie Picture mode produces great black levels comparable to Plasmas.Advantages -1. Great looking - elegant.2. 1080p with 1980x1080 native resolution.3. Great dynamic contrast ratio - 6000:14. Separate Game mode.5. Great even for SD.6. 8 ms response time7. less expensive than XBR.Disadvantages -1. The only difference I could think of between Bravia XBR and this one is 2 HDMI inputs instead of 3 for BRAVIA. Not a big deal for me.Overall - I love it.

5Awesome!
By KRL
Did tons of research and Samsung seemed the way to go. Even though all my purchases thru Amazon were great, I was a bit leary of buying this TV online due to the return policy. I decided to go for it since I would save close to 1000.00 which included free shipping and no tax. Amazon came thru again, and everything was perfect. The TV is very slick in design and the picture is beautiful.Do not expect to see a picture like you do in the stores. Unless you have High Def channels available, your picture will not be as clear. It looks great from 10 feet away, but as you get closer the resolution is not as good. High Def channels make a HUGE difference.

5Great Set
By C. Longo
I have been dragging my heels entering the HDTV era for years now. I sat by while my early adopter friends bought their first HD sets, waiting for HD to reach "prime time" status. Finally, the combination of 1) 1080p 2) HDMI 3) lower prices across the board are what ultimately drove towards me to getting my first HD set.I researched models for months before buying. I first looked at the Sharp Aquos line which seemed great until I started reading of "banding" issues (a manufacturing flaw) which plagued nearly all Aquos models 40-inches and over. Being the obsessive type, I could not justify spending that much money on a set with problems out of the box. Next I looked at the Sony XBR2 and XBR3 series, which also seemed great. In the end, two things turned me off 1) The price was $500 - $1000 more than comparable Samsung or Sharp models and 2) Reports of "clouding" issues, where black screens have noticeable white blotches, another manufacturing flaw.I spent hours upon hours reading threads at the excellent AVS Forums about the Samsung models and was surprised to see nary a complaint uttered. For those who don't know, AVS is a haven for hardcore home theater enthusiasts. These guys mull over every single pixel of a display. If there is something wrong with the set -- they will let you know. Post after post were overwhelming positive about the Samsung sets, both the LN-S and LN-T lines, even in threads about Sharp and Sony sets :) Comfortable I was not about to drop over two large on a lemon, I pulled the trigger.I've had the set for three weeks now and I have zero regrets. The thing I worried the most about before receiving the set was the black levels. Apparently, LCD displays cannot render truly deep blacks that Plasma displays can. I worried for nothing. The blacks seem plenty black to me, even with all the lights off. There's also an "Energy Saver" mode available directly from the remote which toggles the backlight between four levels, so you can adjust the black levels even further. The colors on this set just "pop" -- it's amazing. I've started watching "Sunrise Earth" on Discovery HD every morning while getting ready for work because it just looks so good. This is going to sound like total BS, but the first day I played Sunrise Earth on the new set there were ducks on onscreen and my dog ran across the room, sat down in front of the set, and started barking :)The set has a DNIe mode which automatically tweaks the onscreen colors and sharpens the picture. This mode can provide some amazing images for most content, but I found it cause artifacts in DVDs and sports. I suggest anyone who dislikes what DNIe does to DVD content turn it off and get a Lucas Films DVD and use the included THX Optimizer to tweak the set yourself. The truth is that 90% of the people who buy this set won't care about such subtleties and don't have to touch a setting to get a great picture.Overall five stars. Great picture, great price. Two HDMI ports and 1080p make it future proof. The Samsung LN-S and LN-T lines are, at the moment, the best bang for the buck in the LCD market.

5KDL46HX850 Review and Setup
By Tim D. Hendon
This is really a superb TV. The settings right out of the box are probably the best you will eversee. The Gorilla Glass2 is incredibly thin. This TV is about half the depth of the XBR HX929 andis much lighter. To get the most out of this TV, I recommend the following:1. Leave the TV in standard mode. Decrease the color saturation by 4% to 56. Turn off the presencesensor and the light sensor. Set motionflow to standard (never use any of the others, including smooth,as unpleasant background viewing will be very jumpy). When streaming SD set motionflow to OFF, otherwiseleave on standard as the motionflow manipulates the backlight to achieve localized dimming.2. Set audio to standard and not dynamic. Increase bass to +8 and turn on auto-volume.3. These settings should be used for all inputs including the special game mode. In my opinion, do notuse game mode.4. For simulated 3D use the medium settings and not lo or hi. This seems to be the only one that works well. That's about all there is to change. Best LED TV I've ever seen and that includes the XBRs. (I realize thatthis TV is a 2012 model and the XBR is a 2011 model). I am sure the 2012 XBR will be spectacular, but as of nowthis is the best LED TV on the market with black levels approaching the very best of the plasmas with much, muchbetter light transmission through the glass rather than diffused through a typical LCD panel.

5Awesome TV and a nice step up from the HX820
By greg
I got this TV on a swap with Sony on the 21st of April, so far it has been AWESOME! (Sony took back my defective 820 and gave me a 850) 46' model. I will be comparing the HX850 to the HX820.Pros:*Slimmest bezel of any Sony TV yet*Silver lining around the bezel adds a nice touch*Input lag seems better on the 2012 850*Less adjustment needed right out of the box, at least in my case.*Speakers seem a tad bit better this year, but nothing to brag about.Cons:*Remote is garbage, Sony needs to bring back the remote they used with the HX820. A victim of cost-cutting.*Illuminated Sony Logo is gone. Another nice feature butchered by Sony's new cost-cutting strategies of 2012.So-So's:*3D viewing seems to have improved overall over the 2011 HX820, however tilting your head at all will ruin the picture. Perhaps this is resolved with the new 3D glasses? I am using the TDG-BR250 glasses.*Motion sensor is gone. Never really liked this feature, but it was a good idea.Overall the HX850 is a superior TV to the HX820, which is saying a lot considering the HX820 was and is an amazing set. Black levels are similar to the hx820 (awesome) and picture quality has gone up. As always, Sony is king when it comes to displaying the correct colors, vibrant and colorful to say the least.Good set!

5Superb TV & great picture, so good that I bought a second HX850
By James O. Kahan
Updated July 19, 2012 -The 55 HX850 is a very good 2D TV with a picture that is so good that I purchased a second HX850 - the 46 inch version.I would still recommend the HX850 with one caveat. We can't use the 3D. Sony's 3D should be labeled as a "beta." I would not have been so disappointed if I had been warned. I tried it and lost. The 3D was interesting for one short viewing, but the active glasses were uncomfortable to wear & bothered my eyes. Perhaps, they would have been OK if I had 20-20 vision & did not have to wear my corrective eyeglasses. Sony graciously allowed the return of its glasses and gave me a credit. For practical purposes, I am now the owner of 2 very good 2D TVs.I purchased a 55 HX850 after reading the early Amazon reviews. The positive reviews about that TV were correct as were the negative comments about Sony support. Both the 55 HX850 & 46 HX850 have superb pictures & appearance. The 2D picture is so good that it appears to have some qualities of 3D.Excellent picture with nice appearance. CNET concurs. See its evaluation.I was so irritated by the treatment from Sony Support (up to National Customer Relations) that I received that I went out and bought a 46 inch Samsung for another room, but its picture was very poor when compared to the HX850. Therefore, I returned the Samsung. I plan to keep the HX850 as my primary TV until 4K arrives. For another room, I bought its 46 inch version.I have been buying exclusively Sony TVs for more than 40 years (at least 10 sets). Sony's support staff even referred to its records which showed many of my purchases. I was shocked that a very loyal customer's concerns were ignored. My apologies to John Mi He got it right on Sony's support can be very bad. Sony's support varies in quality. If you get the right person it is good, but if you get the wrong person it is very bad.Horrible support. It's a tragedy. It's unfortunate that Sony has not followed the Apple model. Microsoft copied Apple & its stores are mobbed. But Sony stores are empty. I hope that Sony learns.

4Happy with this TV!
By San Diego Linda
Needed to replace my "antique" tv. Found this Sharp at a good price so decided to give it a try. I don't have the HD upgrade on my Direct TV, but the picture is OK for me without HD. I like the sleek, thin, glossy black cabinet. I installed it on a wall mount & it worked perfectly. Have heard other brands have problems with the screws not working to attach the wall mount. There is a slight problem with these tv's with such thin profiles in that the speakers are really small. The sound (volume) needs to be turned up all the way to hear it. I can hear it fine when the volume is all the way up. I'm happy with the tv, but only gave it a 4 star because of the sound volume. I would have given it a 4.5 star if that option were available.

5Fantastic TV
By Joo-Hyung Yoo
First of all, the picture quality is very vivid and nice... People comment on the sound quality is a bit less than expected but since it's small sized for small space, the sound is ok. The most benefit for me is that the tv has both tuner, digital and analogy so I can watch all the programs even in Seoul,Korea. The reason I did buy it is the weight which is too light to handle. I am moving a lot so i only need some information such as tv news or similar programs. i am very satisfied for the purchasing this tv. I have watched it for almost 5 months, and still like it.

I purchased this item on Amazon. The Sharp LC-22SB2*UT 22" HDTV is wonderful. I needed a stand alone TV for my kitchen that would fit under my cabinets, on my granite counter tops. This fit the bill. The picture is super sharp and the volume is adequate. Not the best I've heard, but it is fine for the kitchen. I really like it!
