Took a shot in the dark and it paid off!
By J.Mills
First off, if you're contemplating on this television because of the brand name, so was I at first. I looked at this tv for about a week before I decided to go through with the purchase, I personally had never heard of the brand Hiteker. And with only being able to see roughly three televisions available from them I was leery about it. I figured "Why the hell not, Amazon has a 30 day return policy if something happens."This television has left a BIG impression on me. NOTE: I purchased this tv for use in my bedroom (typical usage, little bit of tv before bed, occasional movie, etc). This tv not only hit all my check marks of having the features I needed (3 HDMI ports, at least 32" and 1080p resolution) but has been able to hold it's own compared to other larger LCD tv's in my house (LG and Samsung). Light weight for the size, simple setup took less than 3 minutes to have it hooked up to my cable box and was watching tv. I mean you honestly can't beat a tv that is fairly well built for such a *low price. (* The price of purchase was close to around $240 but I had a $50 Amazon gift card so got it for cheaper plus I purchased a 3 years warranty for $20. I mean you can't beat a tv with features like this for $200 or less, specially the size.)Pros:- Perfect for a bedroom television (honestly couldn't see this being used as a main tv, but also I've had 47"+ in my living room for over 5+ years now)- 3 HDMI ports, most tv's (I know LG specially) of this size and price only have 2 HDMI if you're lucky (for me cable box, Roku, and x360 when in the bedroom)- Shipped and received two days from order (directly from Amazon so return policy played a factor for me)- Was able to get the tv and 3 year warranty for $200! (see above paragraph)Cons:- No wifi / apps (for some this is a big selling point, but for my case I bought the Roku for Netflix, Amazon video, etc and it is honestly the better option in terms of price. $200 tv + $100 Roku = $300 tv you will NOT get from any big name for that price)- Speakers are not the best (if you play with the audio options and turn on the Surround Sound options it GREATLY improves audio immensely)- Most brands put their name on the product, apparently not with Hiteker. If it wasn't for the manual I honestly couldn't tell you the brand name.- Remote is made from SUPER cheap plastic (but doesn't really matter to me since the TWC remote will be used mainly with the tv programmed)NOTE: This is a review for only having a product the first few days. I will post if any issues show themselves in time but in the meantime this is a GREAT bedroom television. Paying for a name doesn't always been it's always a great product!

Great value and good TV
By Bob R.
Okay, if you are looking for a top of the line, full featured LCD TV with superb picture and sound, don't look here. In fact don't look in this size at all. You want at least 50% more screen size and you would need to spend a solid chunk more than twice this price. If you are looking for a very good TV with very good picture quality, more than enough inputs and full HD at a price that is unbeatable, here it is.The picture quality is very good, I give it 3 out of 5 stars only because I compare it to my 60" plasma screen which is phenomenal. Rated on its own with no other comparison, this set has excellent picture quality, 4 out of 5. My set has no damaged pixels. The audio quality is just okay (hey, it's a TV not an audio system) but the set does have adjustable sound settings with equalizer that allows some customization.Though this is an odd brand, my cable box remote did have a proper code preset into it that allows the set to be remotely controlled. Unlike another set I have which is also a (different) off brand and which my cable remote has no codes that work. The set is easy to set up and ready in minutes. I have had it several days and have quite a few hours of viewing on it. I like the set very much and it is perfect for a small bedroom. I was surprised and happy to find a full 1080p set in this size, most are 720p. This set also has 3 HDMI inputs, comparable sets have 2. For the quality and the amazingly low price, I am supremely happy with this purchase. I also got the 3 year square trade warranty, that company has a very low price for great warranty coverage. I have had to use them on a larger set of mine and they paid for a replacement set which was actually better than the one that broke down, and they did it with no hassle! So I got the set and 3 years of warranty, full HD and 3 HDMI inputs for less than most 720p sets with less inputs and no extended warranty. I highly recommend this television!

good tv - excellent as a pc monitor
By R. Carlson
I bought this on sale for 199 despite never hearing of the company. 1080P looks awesome as a computer monitor, sports look nice in 1080p, most shows seems to be 720p only but that is not the tv's fault. small smell of plastic and a little hot at the start in the back - will see if that disappears, but for the price its hard to tell difference from a 46" sony 1080P purchased 5 years ago at 2,000. I have it hooked up to 2 pc's , gamecube and playstation 2 and tv. 3 HDMI inputs are awesome. no apps, and simple menus but it does what it should. Speakers are good but not awesome, they are crisp and clear but they won't get really loud like more expensive tv's. Not a problem as I have external speakers but no need to use them yet. I recommend being at least 5+ feet away from it as 32" is still big, too big to really sit up close like I am doing. TV is very light and remote is very light. Big plus is no branding on the front, just the tv. Power light is nice, small and blue, doesn't get in the wayedit: my samsung tv remote and samsung codes in generic remote seem to work for this tv just fine. Will be easy to replace remote
